We receive many questions about our packing especially when it comes to vintage audio equipment. Having shipped 100's of receivers, turntables, reel to reels, cassette decks and so on we have become very good at packing and our feedback reflects that fact. To hopefully make you feel more at ease about your purchase being shipped, below is an example of the process we would use for reel to reels and is similar to how we pack all audio equipment and other items we sell.
First we use a sturdy box with a minimum of 2" of rigid Styrofoam in the bottom.

Next the reel to reel is wrapped in plastic and sheets of Styrofoam are custom cut to surround the deck.

Spacers are added to insure face and reel spindle protection and that the deck will not move inside the box.

Then another minimum layer of 2" Styrofoam is added on top.

The the box is custom cut and creased to exact size needed and heavy 3M packing tape seals it.

Then it is labeled and sent on it's way to you!
