Donate to thrift store charity:  Donating to charity is a wonderful thing.  If you want to donate to a charity you can give more by selling your things on eBay!  If you donate to a thrift store, your items--which could be worth hundreds--will be priced at pennies on the dollar. If you are dead set on a donation, make it a cash donation--let us sell your item and you donate the cash.  Talk about a tax break!

Classified ad in the newspaper:  Spend big money on the ad, reach a few potential buyers and you will have to deal with people calling you or wanting to come to your home at all hours.  Classified ads are also restricted to a very small, local audience.  eBay reaches a WORLDWIDE audience!
